The Heart of Everything We do
“Volunteers aren’t paid, not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless.”

What better way to spend a beautiful Saturday or Sunday from March through October than on the grounds of St. Clement’s Island, on the porch of the Blackistone Lighthouse, looking out at the Potomac River?
Volunteers are needed from 10am – 3pm on these days to open the Lighthouse, welcome guests to a self-guided Lighthouse tour, answer questions, share history, and listen to the guests tolling the fog bell.
Volunteers represent the St. Clement’s Hundred in many ways, but especially through this activity.
